You heard us right – Brazilian retailer C&A has started an online campaign that connects the real world with Facebook (and clothes hangers!). By developing a Facebook app, called FashionLike, the company directs users to its website where they can ‘like’ garments. These results are updated directly from the website–so the clothes hangers are updated in real-time.
Although we’ve seen many innovative methods employed to bridge the gap between Facebook and the real world, this takes the cake. The idea of crowdsourcing fashion choices is a relatively innovative one, especially on a retail level – although it might be a while before we see this kind of implementation topped.
I like this. Definite flaws regarding implementation. Typically, a flaw like this would have been predicted AND prevented execution. But, since it was likely overlooked (which I don’t know), it has become a temporary success in the limelight. Next step…develop ink tags that can be synced with the hangers to prevent the mix-up! I may have bias, but this blog is great!
