When Facebook first launched, it was exclusively for college students. And although the social networking giant has since opened its doors to any and every user, it has now launched a feature especially useful to college students.

Groups for Schools, as it’s called, is a new platform that will allow college students and faculty to create events, exchange files, and message each other.

Although these features seem relatively mundane compared with Facebook Groups, Groups for Schools will become a hub of activity for colleges and universities, and, in turn, allow subgroups for student groups.
