The extremely popular hashtag has come to Facebook. Hashtags, long a staple of Twitter is now a clickable link on Facebook. Facebook states that the addition of hashtags makes it easier for users to find links about public events, people and other topics.
Hashtags are the first step to help discover what others are saying about any matter of topics. It helps people to find information about specific topics and participate in public conversations.
So far the hashtag is not working for all Facebook users but as time goes on it will be more and more functional. Facebook plans to roll out more features over the next several months that will allow trending hashtags and deeper insights that will help people to discover more of the world’s conversations.
How Do I Create a Hashtag on Facebook?
- Log in to your Facebook account.
- Navigate to the field that is entitled “What’s on your mind?” It is near the top of the page.
- Type in # and write something short. Don’t put spaces between the words. An example would be #How’sthiswork?
- Press enter to post the topic.
