Although Klout has been around for some time, it’s now becoming integrated with Facebook business pages–all thanks to Involver. As Mashable reported earlier today, Audi is the first to take part in what’s been called ‘Klout Gate’. Like fan-gating or like-gating, certain content and perks will be given to users with the highest Klout scores.
In this case, it’s a free desktop background and a ringtone. Wow! Audi is really pulling out all the stops. Even though the perks may seem lame, it’s a new way to engage fans–and there’s nothing wrong with that.
And I’ve never checked my Klout score either, so let’s see what happens:
Well, that’s embarrassing. Apparently a Klout score of 50 or higher is considered ‘good’. Oh well, I do have 10,000 Twitter followers (that counts, right?)
