A few months back Facebook announced that it will be radically changing your news feed. The changes will feature a lot of fresh features including larger images, multiple feeds for different interests and a more consistent user experience across mobile devices.

This brings up the question, “How can I be an early adopter and get the new news feed today?”

Well, there is actually a site where you can go and sign up for the changed news feed. Just go to facebook.com/about/newsfeed. There you will see a  Capture button inviting you to try the new look. Just click and Bam! Done! Now you wait….

Just how long you’ll have to wait is not clear however. Facebook said in a big press event that the new look will begin rolling out to users the same day. Some people will be able to begin exploring the new features almost immediately while others will have to wait much longer.

Features

With the use of the updated news feed there will be several different options available to be included in your news feed. This is designed to give the user the option to select from multiple feeds each focusing on a different category. The categories will consist of close friends, general friends, photos, music and  games. A chronological news feed will continue to be an option.

Photos, according to Facebook, now account for fifty percent of all news feed stories. There will be an increased emphasis on optimizing newsfeeds for pictures and it will be a part of the redesign’s mobile focus.
